FLIGHTS

Our prices are based on the flights of TAP AIR PORTUGAL operating from Heathrow or Gatwick via Lisbon to Sal daily and Praia (Santiago Island) 4 times weekly.

The only direct flights are operated by Thomson Holidays from Gatwick on Mondays and Fridays and Manchester on Tuesdays.

For those who wish to spend a number of days on the Islands which are not multiples of one week, one can use TAP Air Portugal daily overnight flights from Heathrow to Sal with an aircraft change at Lisbon.

TAP Flights arrive late at night and when asked for a quotation we will cost the holidays to include this first "night" as one of the number of nights specified.

Our policy is to exclude the final night of your holiday as you will check-in for the return TAP flight around midnight for a 0120hrs departure. This means that you are obliged to vacate your Hotel room between 1000hrs and noon (depending on Hotel conditions). If required, however, and at extra cost, we can approach the Hotel to allow you extended access to your room.

Alternative flights from the UK and Ireland rely on regional flights to Paris, Frankfurt or Amsterdam and connection with TACV Cabo Verde Airlines or Condor flights to Sal or Santiago. These routes are more attractive to our Clients from outside the London and Manchester Airport catchment areas using feeder services KLM, BA & BMI, but mostly involve at least 1 overnight in Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Paris.

LOCAL REP RESENTATION

The qualified operatives of our local ground handling Agent, Barracuda Tours are available to assist any way possible to ensure that the holiday you planned and booked works as closely to perfection as possible.
They will advise on local attractions, problems, health risks and excursions. They will assist you if your inter-Island flight is cancelled, diverted or delayed (and these things do happen in Cape Verde !) and in such cases will arrange overnight accommodation if necessary.
In most cases this will result in no extra charge but we reserve the right to re-charge any item which is otherwise irrecoverable.

GENERAL

The Bruma Seca (a thick fog of sand, a sort of sandstorm) sometimes occurs in January - March. It can cause travel havoc!

MEDICAL

This is a malarial zones and it is essential to take the necessary precautions. For advice on this and other necessary vaccinations etc, consult your GP.

For latest visa and health information - see www.fco.gov.uk

Having said this, the unique climate of the Cape Verde Islands does not encourage the appropriate (or any) mosquitoes, and thus one can rate the risk of contracting Malaria as very low.

FULLY INCLUSIVE MEALPLAN

The prices shown for the Hotels offering "Fully Inclusive Mealplan" means all meals plus Nationally produced drinks including water, soft and fizzy drinks, draught beer and local rum (including cocktails and other drinks based on rum) normally only served between 0700hrs and 2300hrs.
