Transfers

We arrange private taxi transfers for all our Clients on all Islands (with the single exception of Hotel Morabeza on Sal which runs it’s own shuttle bus to connect with all International flights).

You will expect to be met by a driver and (mostly) an English speaking Representative from our Ground Handling Agent at each Airport.

Arrangements for the return transfer with pick-up time and place will be made during the initial transfer on each Island .

Inter-Island flights

Inter-Island flights are with TACV Cabo Verde Airlines using (mostly) twin turbo-prop 48 seater ATR42 aircraft or the larger ATR72 72 seater. A couple of Air Charter companies offer one-ways or return trips with small piston engined 17 seat Cessna Aircraft or similar.

One must be aware that TACV are stretched and when aircraft are out of commission for servicing etc or even weather conditions, flights can be cancelled, delayed or diverted. For this reason we always recommend that a return to Sal for at least 1 night prior to the International flight home is allowed for such problems.

Ferries

There are reliable ferry routes between São Vicente and Santo Antao and less reliable ones between Santiago, to São Vicente, Fogo and Brava. We would not recommend any reliance on these latter ferries as part of a short holiday.

For example: Two ageing Ferries MV Barlavento and MV Sotavento sharing the northern most and the Southernmost Islands, but sometimes change places!

The MV Praia d’Aguada is a more modern boat visits Fogo and Brava also São Vicente once a week.

Cargo ships ply between the islands but on an irregular basis.

São Vicente to Santo Antão takes just one hour and the boats shuttle to and fro up to three times daily.
