Our Opinion
Designed with typical Italian flair, this most attractive complex has rather small bedrooms (the Italians often do this!) but a superbly positioned pool and public areas. Many of the apartments have sea view but those to the rear of the property overlook what will be the next phase of the development. One needs to be aware of building work in Santa Maria in general, however we have no hesitation in recommending Porto Antigo.

Quite a large complex with 3 or 4 ranks of buildings behind the sea, rather small accommodation and rather modestly furnished but more than adequate for a week or two’s vacation. The pools and restaurant/bar complex form the focal point of a holiday and are of very high quality and a great attraction.

The apartments are either in the village centre or on the sea front road in Santa Maria . They are not luxurious but offer homely and pleasant accommodation and simple furnishings. Each apartment has simple self-catering facilities. We have based our pricing of these apartments only on the number of actual beds; there is a reduction for those additional party members who sleep on sofa beds – please ask. Ideal for families or groups of friends to enjoy a budget holiday.
