 Furnished in rather minimalist style this comfortable new hotel has very good facilities and is only a short walk from the beach. The Restaurant offers a la carte as well as table d’hote meals both at lunch and dinner. We particularly liked this very well run Hotel. It is literally 4 minutes walk from the beach

Our Opinion
 A huge hotel destined to become even bigger, but undoubtedly five star and typically Riu in its slightly zany architecture, attention to detail and quality control. An all inclusive resort with many alternatives for eating. Facilities outside are numerous, undoubtedly the highest quality hotel in the Cape Verde Islands so far. Rooms are large and (unusually) have an en-suite shower (without a door), a separate toilet and a wardrobe is behind a beaded curtain. As there is little necessity to venture beyond the Hotels grounds, many guests (sadly!) do not come to appreciate the real Cape Verdean atmosphere.

 Being adjacent to the Rui Funana and sharing many facilities, the Riu Garopa complies with the Riu "Clubhotel" philosophy and majors on activities for all ages, providing entertainment and fun! Happily there is tons of room and one can get away from too much activity and perhaps just relax! Like the Funana it features Riu’s zany architecture.

Perhaps the best 4 star hotel in the Archipelago. It is the oldest but very well maintained and very nicely run. Its position in the centre of the spectacular Santa Maria beach is undoubtedly the best.

Our Opinion
 This 50 room small hotel is in a superb position overlooking the beach and is full of artefacts like old ships propellers etc. It is the only "Boutique" hotel on Sal. The standard rooms are quite small but nicely furnished. The small pool, the beach bar, the covered area and the restaurant are first class and in addition there is direct access to the magnificent beach. Highly recommended.

 Very pleasant rooms and good public facilities. We like the Grill room idea and access to the beach is very easy. However more four and a half than five star!

Both Rooms and Bungalows are modest in size and furnishings but are air conditioned. An outstanding aspect of our stay was the superb buffet breakfast which includes numerous hot dishes as well as exotic fruits etc. The facilities offered will entertain the most lively Client. Clients may stay on B&B or HB.

Rather small air conditioned chalets but perfectly adequate, but their position towards the centre of the Santa Maria beach is excellent and the facilities offered are numerous. It shares facilities with the Hotel Belorizonte which is owned by the same company and is next door with no dividing wall between.

 Newly refurbished, this small and modest but attractive Hotel is in the prime position for wind surfing, being on a part of the beach where waves are less and the wind more settled. The compulsory half board keeps costs down.

A new modern, well designed hotel which surprisingly has a small swimming pool and whilst it is not on the beach it is only a short walk away and one can rent a bicycle at the hotel. Rooms are surprisingly big and the furnishing very pleasant. Excellent value for money.
