Murdeira Village **** BAIA DA MURDEIRA

Situated on a blunt headland between two beaches, this Complex consists of 40 suites and 40 bungalows of various sizes. 

The suite consists of a fairly small bedroom with an en-suite shower room separated by a sliding door from the small living/dining room with kitchenette. There is a small terrace in front, facing towards the sea. There is air-conditioning in the bedrooms and satellite TV in the living room.

Bungalows (some on two floors) consist of a bedroom with en-suite shower room, a living/dining area with small kitchenette and two ring electric cooker. There is a small verandah facing towards the sea. 2 and 3 bedroom versions are for sale but can sometimes be rented from the new purchasers. 

Other facilities and attractions include bicycle and scooter rentals and (subject to conditions) some good surfing on the beach, just to the south of the complex. There is ample parking, a tennis court, a mini-market, a gymnasium, an hairdresser, a laundry, sandpits and swings for the children, and a shuttle service to Santa Maria . Sundry water sports including surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing and jet ski operate in the small bay next to the Hotel.

The Restaurant, with exterior and interior dining, overlooks the bay to Mount Lion Island and an open-air bar overlooks the small beach.

Our Opinion
Quite a large complex with 3 or 4 ranks of buildings behind the sea, rather small accommodation and rather modestly furnished but more than adequate for a week or two’s vacation. The pools and restaurant/bar complex form the focal point of a holiday and are a great attraction.

Prices include: economy seats on the direct flights of TACV (the National Airline of Cape Verde) flying from Stansted to Sal Island or Santiago Island, inter-Island flights (if appropriate), all airport taxes, security and fuel surcharges, transfers from Airport to Hotel & return, 6 or 13 nights accommodation as defined at the board stated (7 day or 14 day holiday), Visa fee and Local Representation. A limited number of Comfort Class seats are available on International flights at £146 each way.
